R&D Laboratory of UCL is a recognized unit of Department of Scientific and Industrial Research , Government of India. Research and Development is mainly directed to material, and process development to keep the company technologically in forefront . R&D department is also working to expand the product range of the company through innovative product development.

• R&D Department is engaged in collaborative research work with National Physical Laboratory under CSIR, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Indian Institute of Technology in the field of high temperature super conducting cable, heat shrinkable cable accessories, radiation cross-linking of polymers, development of high temperature polymer blends and composites.

• Scientific work carried - out by the R&D department is regularly published in National & International journals.

• The R&D Laboratory is well equipped with advanced analytical instruments and latest electrical testing facilities. The R&D Centre has also access to advanced resources of other Laboratories with in the group companies. 

• UCL R&D Laboratory is well prepared to take - up challenges of future cable market.
